So for him she's honest, something he'd taught her to do over time through the sheer sunny force of his personality, through giving her the desire to be good not just to him but for him. She won't be able to do anything very sophisticated and showstopping, especially because she's never seriously practised how to do too much fancy dancing but just from how he stares she knows that probably won't matter much.
What he'll remember is this shared moment, their hands linked, his hand around her waist as they sway gently to the music.
"Just step with me. When I go backwards, you come forward. Ready? 1, 2, 3..."
And she takes a step back, hand giving his an encouraging little tug forward. Then as she steps to the side, another little tug until the first three steps of a waltz are successfully completed. They're not matching the music at all but that can come with time.
